Turkmen Ambassador A. Movlamov met with Speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan R.P. Ashraf. The conversation between the parties took place in the building of the Parliament of the Islamic Republic. This is reported on the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
The central topic of the meeting was the discussion of strengthening bilateral inter-parliamentary cooperation. The sides emphasized the importance of mutual visits and meetings for exchange of experience.
Ambassador of Turkmenistan informed Mr. R.P. Ashraf about the establishment of the Halk Maslakhaty, a body of people's power, which will allow to expand the opportunities for participation of the masses in making important state decisions. Movlamov also spoke about the implementation of the TAPI gas pipeline and TAP power lines projects.
The Assembly Speaker emphasized the importance of expanding mutual trade between the two countries and suggested that the Turkmen side use the potential of a number of seaports in Pakistan.
