On March 1, regular Turkmen-Russian political consultations with participation of Deputy Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Ahmed Gurbanov and Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Sergey Vershinin took place in the building of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
During the meeting, the sides discussed cooperation in the field of security and combating new threats both in the bilateral format and within the framework of international organizations. The Russian side praised the principles of permanent neutrality to which Turkmenistan is committed, especially in the development of peace and security.
The issues of peacebuilding, economic recovery and political stability in Afghanistan were discussed. At the end of the meeting, the sides agreed to continue inter-Midwestern contacts.
