A two-day workshop on climate risk assessment was held in Turkmenistan

In early July this year, a two-day environmental seminar was held in Mary within the framework of the work of the Regional Program of the German Society for International Partnership, the main topic of which was the assessment of climate risks in the Murghab River basin. This is reported by the Internet edition "Turkmenistan: The Golden Age."  

The workshop participants were representatives of the country's specialized ministries of environment protection and agriculture, as well as leading researchers of the State Committee for Water Management of Turkmenistan and the Turkmen State Institute "Turkmensuvylymtaslama".

During the workshop, the main factors of climate change in the Murghab River basin were highlighted, and attention was paid to the efficiency of water and land resources use under current conditions. During the event, emphasis was made on measures to preserve fertility of agricultural lands.
