On the occasion of the milestone, the Leader of the Nation and the country's top leaders laid flowers at the Constitution Monument and at the foot of the 133-meter flagpole with the country's national flag.
Celebrations were organized all over the country. For example, the Center for Public Organizations in Ashgabat held a conference dedicated to the Day of the Constitution and the State Flag of the country. The event was attended by representatives of the government and the Mejlis, as well as politicians, members of public organizations, heads of diplomatic missions, the media, and students.
In their speeches, the speakers emphasized the importance of the adoption of the Constitution 28 years ago. They noted that, thanks to this, Turkmenistan defined the key directions of its future development as an independent state.
The participants also noted an important component of the Basic Law of Turkmenistan - the strategy of foreign policy based on good neighborliness, peaceful relations and mutually beneficial partnership with other countries in various fields. The relevance of these positions is confirmed at a high level. Thus, the UN has declared 2021 as the International Year of Peace and Trust.
