Turkmenistan is celebrating Carpet Day, which takes place annually on the last Sunday in May. Festive events have already started in the capital of Turkmenistan and all over the country. For instance, a contest of carpet weavers "Patterns from centuries to centuries" was held in the National Museum of Turkmen Carpet.
Carpet weavers note that this holiday marks a tribute to their profession and products. In this regard, the carpet weavers congratulated their colleagues and all Turkmenistan citizens, as well as the head of state.
The Turkmen carpet is not just a decorative object - it has long been a symbol of family and home, and in our days it has become a national treasure. Even for the national coat of arms and flag the carpet ornaments were borrowed as a symbol of friendship and unity of the Turkmen people.
The judges evaluated not only how well the work was done, but also paid close attention to how the patterns corresponded to the ancient patterns and the color scheme of products.
The seamstresses emphasized that each of them strives to demonstrate all the subtleties of the art of carpet making, using ancient gels and patterns that have come down to us from the depths of centuries.
As scientists note Turkmen carpets can boast the oldest history of existence - tools used in carpet weaving have been found on the territory of Turkmenistan since the middle of II millennium B.C. - It is much earlier than the similar thing appeared in other peoples.
And from May 30 to May 31, 2021 an exhibition of Trade complex will be deployed at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan, which will be timed to several significant dates. Besides the Carpet Day, the event will be dedicated to the Year of Peace and Trust, the quarter-century anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality and the 30th anniversary of independence.
The exhibition is organized jointly by the Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations, Mintectilprom, the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange, CCI, Turkmenhaly State Association, and SPPT. Its purpose is to demonstrate achievements of the Turkmen trading complex using various products and goods supplied abroad.
