On November 5, Turkmenistan will host the traditional nationwide autumn tree-planting event. The date of this mass event was announced by Serdar Berdymukhamedov at a meeting with regional heads and the deputy prime minister for agriculture.
Officials, businessmen, eco-activists and all residents of the country will take part in the campaign. The head of Turkmenistan has instructed regional leaders to organize a high-level planting campaign locally.
Массовая посадка деревьев проходит в Туркмении один раз в полгода – в осенний и весенний сезоны. О начале акции информирует президент. Каждый год в масштабах страны высаживают 3 млн. саженцев деревьев, среди которых есть как лиственные, так и хвойные породы, а также – плодовые культуры.
In anniversary years, several times more trees were planted than the usual number. In 2020, for example, 25 million trees were planted in honor of the country's 25th anniversary of neutrality; in 2021, 30 million saplings were planted in honor of the 30th anniversary of independence.
