WHO conducted a course on biosafety in Turkmenistan

The World Health Organization organized a training seminar on biosafety and biosecurity for specialists of health and veterinary institutions in Turkmenistan. This was reported by the Internet publication "Türkmenistan habarlar portaly".

The course on biosafety and biosecurity in laboratories was conducted by experts from WHO Regional Office for Europe Gulmira Kalmambetova and Alexander Jaguparov. WHO representatives noted that the introduction of national quality standards in laboratories ensures high quality of laboratory services.

It is also noted that an integrated quality management system provides an opportunity to ensure that laboratories comply with current biosafety standards and regulations. In this regard, WHO has developed recommendations and training courses, including the WHO Laboratory Biosafety Manual.
