Deputy Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan met with UNFPA Regional Director

Deputy Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Myahri Byashimova met with UNFPA Regional Director for Eastern Europe and Central Asia Florence Bauer on September 8 to discuss bilateral cooperation. This is reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

The UNFPA Chief is currently in Ashgabat to participate in a national conference on Turkmenistan's success in implementing the Programme of Action of the International Conference on Population and Development.

During the meeting, the parties noted the fruitfulness of cooperation between UNFPA and Turkmenistan within the framework of the country cooperation program for 2021-2025, in the field of gender equality, reproductive health and family planning. The parties discussed the prospects for further partnership, including in the field of youth policy.
