Turkmenistan has fulfilled its obligations to build the Turkmen section of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Tajikistan railroad. This was reported by the Tajik media.
In Turkmenistan, the 85-kilometer section of the Atamurat-Imamnazar project has also been completed.
It was to build a 35-kilometer railway line connecting the provinces of Aqina and Andkhoy. As reported, Turkmenistan has fulfilled its obligations under both projects.
In March 2013, the heads of the three countries signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the construction of the TAT railroad. The Kerky-Imamnazar-Akina railway, the first phase of the railroad, the construction of which began on June 5 of that year, was opened in November 2016.
