Turkish Foreign Minister to visit Turkmenistan

Turkish Foreign Minister will pay an official two-day visit to Turkmenistan on October 10-11 at the invitation of Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov.

How reported press service of the Turkish Foreign Ministry, during the talks the sides intend to discuss the priorities of bilateral cooperation, as well as current regional and global issues.

The report notes that the key topic of discussion will be the expansion of trade and economic ties between the countries. At the end of last year, trade turnover between Türkiye and Turkmenistan amounted to $1.3 billion. The visit is expected to bring relations to a new level.

Also on the agenda are security, energy and transportation issues. Türkiye is interested in importing Turkmen gas and expanding transit routes through its territory.

The upcoming meeting will demonstrate the commitment of Ankara and Ashgabat to the course of deepening multidimensional partnership for the prosperity of the two brotherly nations.
