In Ashgabat on August 12, the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Office and the State Committee on Physical Culture and Sports of Turkmenistan held a universal meeting of young people to mark International Youth Day.
This year's UN choice as a global theme is "Digital Youth Pathways for Sustainable Development", so the program of the meeting was devoted to the involvement of young people in the architecture of the country's digital future. This was reported by the correspondent Arzuw.news in Ashgabat.
The event, which brought together many representatives of the new generation, discussed areas related to utilizing their rich potential, promoting gender equality, engaging in healthy lifestyles, ensuring digital literacy, creating a safe technological space and the participation of young people in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
The participants of the meeting were given a presentation on the effects and opportunities of modern media platforms, an interactive quiz, an impromptu game show and a colorful sports flash mob. The event allowed young people to improve their knowledge of how to navigate the world of digital technologies, understand the importance of equal opportunities, and increase their desire to engage in physical activity and sports.
Head of UNFPA Office in Turkmenistan Kemal Goshliyev noted the high significance of personal unprecedented participation of the Head of State Serdar Berdimuhamedov in the fruitful implementation of youth policy of Turkmenistan. Goshliev also expressed gratitude to the State Committee for Physical Culture and Sports as a reliable partner for support in organizing the event.
