President of Turkmenistan announces three-day celebration of Eid al-Adha from June 6 to 9

Turkmenistan celebrates Eid al-Adha

Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a decree to celebrate Eid al-Adha for three days - June 6, 7 and 8. Since the last day of celebrations falls on Sunday, the celebration will last up to and including June 9.

One of the main holidays of the Islamic world will be celebrated throughout the country with festive events in administrative centers, etraps and rural settlements of all regions. Particularly large-scale celebrations are planned in the capital Ashgabat and the city of Arkadag, where festivities will be held in parks, cultural centers and theaters.

The head of state emphasized the special significance of Eid al-Adha celebrations this year, noting that the festivities are held in the first days of the summer of the International Year of Peace and Trust. According to the President, the festivities are aimed at strengthening the pride of the Turkmen people for their glorious past and present.

Eid al-Adha traditionally symbolizes the spiritual unity and solidarity of Muslims around the world. This sacred holiday incorporates high moral values, traditions and rituals of the peoples of the East, proclaiming the principles of humanism and goodwill.
