Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov met with representatives of Japanese companies at the Foreign Ministry building June 28.
The Japanese delegation was headed by Hiroyuki Tsubai, Chairman of the Japan-Turkmen Committee for Economic Cooperation, and Kenji Sanada, Executive Director of Kawasaki Heavy Industries Ltd.
The participants of the meeting highly appreciated the long-standing partnership between Turkmenistan and Japanese companies in various sectors of the economy. The main areas of cooperation were identified as oil and gas and gas-chemical industry, transportation, agriculture, electric power and ecology.
The sides emphasized the significant role of the Turkmen-Japanese and Japan-Turkmen Economic Cooperation Committees in the development of bilateral relations.
During the talks, the sides reviewed the joint projects underway and outlined the prospects for further expansion of cooperation between the two countries.
