The National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov met with President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kasym-Jomart Tokayev at the International Airport of Turkmenbashi. This is reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
The meeting took place yesterday as part of the Kazakh leader's arrival to attend the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries, which is being held on the Caspian coast.
Kasym-Jomart Tokayev expressed his honor to participate in the representative conference and confidence in the successful implementation of the decisions of the international forum. According to the President of Kazakhstan, the event is aimed at solving urgent problems of our time and expanding mutually beneficial cooperation between the states.
The head of the neighboring state thanked for the warm welcome on the Turkmen land and wished success to the international conference.
Both leaders expressed confidence in further development of interstate relations in all areas of cooperation.
