Turkmenistan hosted a meeting with the Special Envoy of the UN Secretary General

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan held a meeting with Mr. Jean Todt - Special Envoy of the UN Secretary General for Road Safety on November 27, 2024. This is reported on the website of Turkmenistan's Foreign Ministry. 

The interlocutors emphasized that in recent years Turkmenistan has been promoting the creation of effective platforms for constructive dialogue on the topic of transport. In this regard, the two-day International Conference ITTC-2024 held in Ashgabat was emphasized as particularly important. The sides also noted the importance of establishing the Group of Friends of Sustainable Transport, which was initiated by Turkmenistan.

During the meeting, attention was drawn to the effectiveness of measures being taken in the country to reduce the number of road accidents.
