Artists of Broadway musicals Aaron Young and Kate Bass, who flew to Ashgabat as part of the program "American Music Abroad," are holding a series of master classes with Turkmen musicians. This is reported by the online edition of "Turkmenistan: Golden Age".
Master classes are held on the stage of the Mukamov Palace of the State Cultural Center. Talented artists of Broadway musicals readily share their experience with musicians of the State Symphony Orchestra and students of the M. Kuliyeva National Conservatory of Turkmenistan.
In particular, foreign artists held master classes on vocalizing while dancing. The combination of singing and dancing is an indispensable element of a performance in the musical genre, which was recognized as a separate art form in the United States in the 1940s.
The publication also notes that Aaron Young and Kate Bass are enthusiastic about learning about the culture and art of Turkmenistan.
