A meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of Government is taking place in Ashgabat

A regular meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the Commonwealth of Independent States on expansion of trade and economic ties between its members is being held today in Ashgabat. This is reported by the TurkmenPortal online edition.

The key aspects of multilateral cooperation are energy, infrastructure, and industry. The meeting participants will consider drafts of the Concept of Energy Cooperation and the Action Plan for the Development of Transport Corridors in the CIS.

Issues of economic integration within the CIS will be discussed. It is planned to approve documents on cooperation in the healthcare and chemical industries. Current topics of hazardous waste management and intellectual property protection will be discussed.
