A meeting of the Climate Group on the Paris Agreement was held in Ashgabat

On 31 May, UNDP and the British Embassy in Turkmenistan jointly organized and held the 7th meeting of the Climate Group on Accelerating Turkmenistan's Fulfillment of Obligations under the Paris Agreement in Ashgabat. This was reported by the TurkmenPortal online publication.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the UN, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, foreign diplomatic missions, USAID, GIZ, OSCE and non-governmental organizations. In the course of the meeting, new information was provided on the measures taken as a result of COP28/COP28. Preparation for the next climate conference to be held in Baku in 2024 was discussed.

The progress of preparation of the First Biennial Report and the Fourth National Communication on Climate Change by Turkmenistan was considered. The country's plans to implement the recommendations under the Global Methane Commitment were also considered.
