December 23, 2020 Chairman of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan participated in an online conference held by UNDP and UNRCCA. The virtual forum was devoted to the establishment of the Central Asian Senior Women's Dialogue.
UN Assistant Secretary General and Director of the UNDP Regional Bureau for Europe and CIS M. Spolaric Egger and UN Secretary General's Special Representative for Central Asia and Head of UNRCCA N. Herman noted the importance of the project, whose mission is to Strengthening the role of women in decision-making aimed at sustainable development and regional peace and security.
The participants considered The concept of the initiative to create this Dialogue from the positions of political, economic, and social importance, and discussed possible areas of cooperation. Among the key vectors of cooperation were the following intellectual sphere, social and political research, improvement of the legislative sphere in matters of gender equality, motivation of progressive initiatives of women in a number of spheres of activity.
At the end of the meeting, the prospects for future cooperation were highly appreciated, and the desire to consolidate efforts aimed at solving urgent problems at the level of Central Asia and on a global scale was unanimously voiced.
