State budget of Turkmenistan for 2023 increased by almost 20% compared to 2022

Turkmen President Serdar Berdymukhamedov signed the law on the country's state budget for 2023. The Turkmen state budget for next year is increased by 19.6% compared to the current year.

As "Neutral Turkmenistan" newspaper reports today, the volume of these funds next year will amount to 95 billion. 117 million 700 thousand manats (over 27 billion U.S. dollars at the rate of the Central Bank of Turkmenistan). In 2022 state budget of the country was at the level of 79.509.6 billion manat (over $24 billion).

Article 2 of the law says that the size of the centralized budget will be 85 billion. 378 million 700 thousand manat. At that, about 4% of these funds will be directed to the balancing of local budgets.

The size of local budgets will be 12,393 million manats. A significant part of the funds (2,547.3 million manat) is focused on Lebap province.

The budget provides that more than 70% of financial resources will be directed to the development of the social sphere, education, health care, culture, system of social welfare of the population.

Wages, pensions, state benefits, and stipends remained the protected items in the state budget of Turkmenistan.
