Two universities in Turkmenistan will have UNESCO Chairs

On February 16, 2023, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan hosted a ceremony of signing documentation on the establishment of UNESCO Chairs in the country's higher educational institutions. This is reported on the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

The ceremony was attended by officials and heads of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, rectors of the Magtymguly TSU and the S. Seidi State Pedagogical University, employees of the Ministry of Education, representatives of UNESCO and the National Commission for UNESCO in Turkmenistan.

The ceremony was opened by M. Chariev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to Paris and Permanent Delegate of Turkmenistan to UNESCO. The ceremony was also addressed by Minister of Education G. Ataeva, Executive Secretary of the National Commission for UNESCO C. Rustemova, Deputy Director General of UNESCO S. Giannini. Giannini.

After the speeches of the speakers, the Rector of TSU named after Magtymguly B. Orazdurdyeva and the Rector of TSPI named after S. Seydi G. Mukhammedov signed an Agreement on the establishment of UNESCO Chairs in their educational institutions.
