International Olympic Day celebrated in Turkmenistan

International Olympic Day has been celebrated in the world since 1948, in Turkmenistan - since independence and joining the IOC.

The date of June 23 for this holiday was not chosen by chance - it was on June 23, 1894 that the International Olympic Committee was established. As part of the celebration, mass races were held at the multifunctional stadium "Ashgabat". The Gokche Sports Complex hosted demonstrations in 13 sports.

The sports events were organized by the State Committee of Turkmenistan on Physical Culture and Sports, the National Olympic Committee and the Main Department of Physical Culture and Sports of Ashgabat.
