Expert Ilyasov told about Turkmenistan's water strategy

Dr. Allaberdy Ilyasov, Doctor of Technical Sciences, spoke about Turkmenistan's water strategy. This is reported by Centralasia.news.

The expert noted that in order to preserve and replenish fresh water reserves in Turkmenistan, it is planned to plant deciduous trees along river beds and canals, which will ensure retention of more than 50% of water filtration, improvement of hydrological regime and underground feeding of rivers.

In the analytical material it was emphasized that water policy of Turkmenistan includes improvement of legislative base in the field of water resources use and protection. Together with international organizations, Turkmenistan is actively involved in addressing desertification, climate change, ozone layer protection, protection of transboundary watercourses and international lakes at the national and regional levels.
