China and Turkmenistan agree to expand trade

On October 30, the eighth meeting of the Subcommittee on Economic and Trade Cooperation of the China-Turkmen Cooperation Committee was held in Beijing. As report Chinese media, the meeting discussed prospects for expanding trade and economic relations between the two countries.

The Chinese side was represented by Mr. Lin Ji, Deputy Minister of Commerce, and the Turkmen side was represented by Mr. Kerimberdy Kurbanov, Deputy Minister of Commerce and WEC. Mr. Lin Ji stressed the decision of the leaders of China and Turkmenistan to bring relations to the level of comprehensive strategic partnership.

For its part, China is ready to work on optimizing the trade structure and expanding investment cooperation with Turkmenistan. Mr. Kurbanov noted that China is the main trade partner of his country. Turkmenistan is interested in increasing exports to China and expanding the range of goods.

During the meeting, the parties signed a protocol reflecting the agreements reached. Experts believe that the outcome of the talks will contribute to further strengthening of trade and economic ties between China and Turkmenistan.
