The Turkmen Institute of Seismology and Atmospheric Physics held an online conference with Austrian specialists from the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization. This was reported by the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper.
The agenda was a brief report of domestic seismologists on the technical condition of the Alibeg station. In response, the Austrian specialists presented information on the CTBTO services. The Austrian specialists put forward a proposal to hold training seminars to improve the qualification of Turkmen specialists.
The Alibeg station registers tremors, determines the location of the origin and transmits the data to Ashgabat. After data processing, the information is transmitted to the CTBTO International Data Center in Vienna.
The forum provided an opportunity to exchange information and professional experience, which will improve monitoring of seismogenic zones.
