A marathon horse race of Akhalteke horses was held in Turkmenistan

A marathon race of Akhalteke horses organized by the association Türkmen atlary was held in Akhal velayat, as reported in the newspaper "Neutral Turkmenistan".

Horses of the Akhalteke Equestrian Complex of the President of Turkmenistan, the International Akhalteke Equestrian Complex, the National Equestrian Center, the Ministry of Defense of Turkmenistan, the Border Guard Service took part in the marathon.

The marathon consisted of two stages of 30 km each and was run over rough terrain. Between the stages the horses underwent a veterinary examination. The race was accompanied by the performance of pop and folklore groups, dance groups and bakhshi.

The winners of the marathon were horses of the Akhalteke Equestrian Complex of the President of Turkmenistan. The horses Meshkhur, Garaduman, Gaiduv were in the top three.

The announcement and awarding of the winners will take place during the celebration of the National Day of the Turkmen Horse.
