Mejlis of Turkmenistan held a meeting in honor of the 300th anniversary of the birth of Makhtumkuli

On June 22, the Mejlis of Turkmenistan held an international special session "Historical and cultural values uniting peoples" in the online format in honor of the 300th anniversary of the birth of Makhtumkuli Fraghi. This is reported by the online edition "Turkmenistan: The Golden Age"..

The meeting was attended by parliamentarians from Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Iran, Director of the UNESCO Office in Almaty, Executive Secretary of the National Commission of Turkmenistan for UNESCO, Secretary General of TURKSOY.

The meeting was held in order to support the cultural policies of the countries, popularize and preserve the heritage of great writers and poets, develop cultural ties between the countries and expand inter-parliamentary cooperation.
