The Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan issued a press statement

On April 7, in honor of World Health Day and the 75th anniversary of the WHO, the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan made a statement to the press, in which it spoke about WHO activities in Turkmenistan, implementation of joint programs and national strategies. This is reported on the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

Over the 31 years of cooperation between Turkmenistan and WHO, Turkmenistan has seen great positive changes in the health sector. The Ministry of Health and Medical Industry noted that WHO actively supports Turkmenistan's initiatives on a variety of issues: child and adolescent health, reproductive health, maternal and child health.

It was also emphasized that in accordance with the State Program "Saglyk" in Turkmenistan the principles of healthy lifestyle, development of physical culture and mass sports, establishment of medical institutions, hospitals and sanatoriums, pharmaceutical activities have been approved. The priority areas of the program are health promotion, prevention and treatment of diseases, increasing life expectancy, and accessibility of medical care.
