The President of Turkmenistan received the Vice President of the Asian Development Bank

President Berdimuhamedov received Vice President of the Asian Development Bank for South, Central and West Asia Yang Yingming to discuss prospects for bilateral cooperation.

ADB has reaffirmed its support for Turkmenistan's initiatives to form a sustainable economy and diversify it. The year 2024 will mark 25 years of partnership between Turkmenistan and the financial organization.

During a quarter century of cooperation, ADB has been involved in financing projects in the republic's energy, transportation, and health sectors. The bilateral partnership is implemented under the Strategy for Cooperation with Turkmenistan for 2024-2028, and projects are implemented under the Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation Program.

In May this year, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the State Committee for Construction of Arkadag City under the President of Turkmenistan and ADB.

Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the republic's intention to diversify the energy sector, using the country's enormous reserves of natural resources. The parties discussed the continuation of dialogue on modernization of the railway industry.

The President noted the need to intensify financial-credit and consulting services for the development of small and medium-sized businesses. The head of state reaffirmed Turkmenistan's readiness to further expand mutually beneficial partnership with ADB.
