The Russian ambassador to Ashkhabad shared his expectations of the foreign policy of Turkmenistan's new leader, who was elected on March 12. Alexander Blokhin told the news agency "TASS" that the forecasts of the Russian Federation regarding the further foreign policy of the country are related to Turkmenistan's preservation of its neutrality.
The head of the Russian diplomatic mission underlined that this strategy for the previous three decades had shown its success and efficiency. Blokhin called the neutral model of interaction with the outside world a solid foundation on which the entire foreign policy of the state is based.
The Russian diplomat praised the early presidential elections of the Turkmen leader, calling them "absolutely worthy. He also expressed hope that Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov will continue to be active in the political field, as he has a great positive experience in managing the state.
