Turkmen students won 30 medals at the International Mathematics Olympiad held in Poland on November 8-10. This is reported by the Internet portal "Turkmenistan: The Golden Age."
The Turkmen students took 6 gold, 9 silver and 11 bronze medals out of thirty medals in individual competitions. Another 1 silver and 3 bronze awards were won in team competitions. The awarding ceremony was held at the Turkmen State University named after Makhtumkuli Fraghi.
The International Student Team Olympiad in Mathematics was organized by the Silesian University in Katowice and gathered over 160 students from 9 countries. It was attended by students from undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate programs. In the individual competition, participants solved problems in various areas - matanalysis, combinatorics, geometry, probability theory and functional equations.
