Turkmenistan and Russia: Dialogue for a Stable Partnership

On December 20, 2023, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov had a telephone conversation with Chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko. The conversation was initiated by the Russian side. This is reported by the State News Agency of Turkmenistan.

At the beginning of the conversation, the National Leader of the Turkmen people congratulated Valentina Matviyenko on the 30th anniversary of the formation of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation and adoption of the Constitution, as well as on her re-election as Chairman of the Council of the CIS Parliamentary Assembly.

It was noted that the Turkmen-Russian relations continue to expand in a wide range of areas. Chairman Halk Maslakhaty emphasized that ties between the two countries in the cultural and humanitarian sphere and in the field of people's diplomacy are currently intensifying. Valentina Matvienko noted during the conversation that the Russian side was firmly committed to further strengthening of strategic cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation.
