Avaza, August 6 - Arzuw.news. President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a meeting with Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze in the National tourist zone "Avaza". This is reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
The Georgian prime minister arrived in the country to participate in the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries. Kobakhidze praised the organizational level of the forum and stressed that its holding in Turkmenistan demonstrates the republic's commitment to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
During the talks, the Prime Minister conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from the President of Georgia Mikhail Kavelashvili. The Head of Turkmenistan expressed satisfaction with the intensification of high-level political dialog between the two countries in recent years.
The sides noted that bilateral relations are built on the principles of equality, mutual respect and trust. Trade and economic cooperation remains an important component of the interstate dialog, with the countries also cooperating in the spheres of transport, industry and healthcare.
Special attention was paid to the development of transport corridors. Turkmenistan is interested in the creation of the Black Sea-Caspian Sea and Afghanistan-Turkmenistan-Azerbaijan-Georgia-Turkey routes.
The participants of the meeting emphasized the importance of expanding cultural and humanitarian cooperation and exchange of experience in the fields of science, education, culture and art. The talks ended with the confirmation of intentions to continue long-term cooperation based on the principles of equality and mutual benefit.
