Turkmenistan and China Discuss Prospects for Strategic Partnership

On July 31, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan R. Meredov and a Chinese delegation headed by Chen Gang, member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, Secretary of the CPC Committee of Qinghai Province, held talks. This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

The sides noted particularly effective interaction at the level of heads of state. It was emphasized that inter-parliamentary and inter-party cooperation is of great importance. The countries have similar positions on many global issues, which are raised in the process of activities within various international organizations.

During the meeting, the parties agreed to expand partnership in the "Central Asia-China" format.
Effective cooperation in trade and economic sphere was also noted, which was demonstrated by the increase in trade turnover between the countries. Turkmenistan and China have equally fruitful cooperation in education and science, as well as in cultural exchanges.
