Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov and Slovenian Foreign Ministry State Secretary Marko Stucin held talks on June 16 to strengthen bilateral cooperation between the countries.
The main outcome of the meeting was the agreement to intensify partnership in the trade and economic sphere. The sides emphasized the importance of strengthening the work of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation.
The diplomats highlighted telecommunications, transportation, pharmaceuticals, innovative technologies and trade as priority areas for the development of relations.
In parallel, political consultations were held under the leadership of Deputy Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Myahri Byashimova and State Secretary of the Slovenian Foreign Ministry. The participants exchanged views on the regional and international agenda.
The diplomats noted the constructive interaction of the states within the UN framework, where the countries support each other's international initiatives. Both sides reaffirmed their readiness to improve the legal framework of bilateral relations.
The talks paid special attention to the development of cultural and humanitarian cooperation between Turkmenistan and Slovenia.
