Turkmenistan has started celebrating Eid al-Adha celebrations

Turkmenistan celebrates one of the sacred Muslim holidays - Kurban Bayrami - from June 16 to 18. This is reported by the Internet edition "Westiabad.".

On June 16, believers performed "Kurban Ayat Namaz" in all mosques of the country. Traditionally, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov addressed congratulations to the citizens of Turkmenistan. He noted that the Turkmen people were able to carry through the years the inviolable principles of humanity and virtue.

The traditions of celebrating Eid al-Adha include dressing up in dressy clothes, visiting friends and relatives, receiving guests, giving treats, gifts and honoring the memory of deceased ancestors.

It is the sacred duty of Muslim believers to make the Hajj to Mecca if possible. In this regard, the head of state signed an order to organize a trip of 289 pilgrims to Saudi Arabia.
