Turkmenistan's leader Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov signed an agreement allowing the construction concern Türkmenenergogurluşyk to sign a contract with the Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat energy company from Afghanistan.
In accordance with the terms of the contract, the Turkmen specialists will modernize the power plant in Herat province of Afghanistan. In particular, work will be carried out on the design and implementation of the project for the construction of switchgear with subsequent testing and commissioning.
The construction of new open power distribution facilities will provide an opportunity to increase the volume of electricity supplies to Afghanistan. As noted in the text of the decree of the head of Turkmenistan, the contract between the companies of the two countries will create favorable conditions for the implementation of the TAP trans-energy project to create power lines between Turkmenistan, Afghanistan and Pakistan.
