Turkmen President Discusses Cooperation with the Head of Portugal

During his working visit to the United States, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov met with President of the Portuguese Republic Marcelo Rebelo de Souza. The talks were held in the framework of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly. It is reported Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan. 

The sides noted the fruitful interaction between the two countries in multilateral formats, in particular, mutual support for initiatives within the UN.

The President of Turkmenistan took the opportunity to invite his Portuguese counterpart to participate in the International Forum dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality, which will be held on December 12 in Ashgabat within the framework of the UN International Year of Peace and Trust. Marcelo Rebelo de Souza thanked for the invitation, praising Turkmenistan's peacekeeping foreign policy based on the status of positive neutrality.

At the end of the conversation, the heads of state expressed confidence in further strengthening of bilateral relations and exchanged mutual wishes of success in the activities for the benefit of the peoples of the two countries.
