On May 15 this year, Turkmenistan's Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Sh. Meredov met with T. Abdyrakhmanov - Rector of the Kyrgyz National University named after Y. Balasagyn. The meeting was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country on its official website.
During the conversation, the parties emphasized the interaction of the Turkmen scientific community with the Kyrgyz University in the scientific and educational sphere.
The Ambassador was briefed on the planned events in honor of the 300th anniversary of the birth of Makhtumkuli Fraghi, an outstanding thinker of Turkmenistan. Earlier, the Embassy of Turkmenistan assisted in translating Fraghi's works into Kyrgyz.
Following the meeting, the Turkmen diplomat and the rector of the Kyrgyz university agreed to organize a joint round table in September this year, and in the future 2024 the parties planned to hold a scientific and educational forum on "Contribution of Makhtumkuli's works to the world literature".
