Ashgabat hosts meeting on transit transportation issues

Rail freight transportation in transit mode was on the agenda of the meeting on the Treaty on International Transit Tariff held on May 15 this year. The Internet edition "Turkmenistan: Golden Age" reports about the meeting.

The forum was attended by the representatives of more than 20 states-participants of the ITT Agreement, including Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Czech Republic. The representatives of the Organization for Cooperation between Railways and OSJD affiliated enterprises also took part in the event.

The MTT Agreement established tariffs and unified rules for railway transportation in transit mode. In the course of the three-day meeting the possibilities of improvement and expansion of the contractual basis of cooperation, updating of the Agreement, as well as issues of partnership within the OSJD framework will be discussed with the subsequent signing of the relevant documents.
