V. Hajiyev met with the OSCE Secretary General at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan

May 31, Acting Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Vepa Hajiyev received OSCE Secretary General Helga Schmid, the Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan reported.

During the meeting, the sides discussed the current and prospects for further development of relations between Turkmenistan and the OSCE in the political, economic, humanitarian, energy and environmental security spheres. The sides also touched upon the strengthening of inter-parliamentary ties.

Turkmenistan and the OSCE are actively cooperating in the transportation, energy and environmental spheres, and effective cooperation has been achieved in combating terrorism, crime, drug trafficking, trafficking in human beings and extremism. Information security is a promising area today.

The meeting also touched upon the issues of humanitarian activities, including assistance to neighboring Afghanistan.
