Turkmenistan's Foreign Minister held talks with a Finnish delegation

On June 1, negotiations between representatives of the Foreign Ministries of Turkmenistan and Finland took place in Ashgabat. Turkmenistan was represented by Acting Foreign Minister Vepa Hajiyev, while the Finnish delegation was represented by Director General of the Department for Russia, Eastern Europe and Central Asia Maria Elina Liivala and Finnish Ambassador to Turkmenistan Ikka Räisänen. The meeting was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

During the meeting, the sides discussed Turkmen-Finnish cooperation in trade-economic, political-diplomatic and cultural-humanitarian spheres.

Representatives of the Foreign Ministries of the countries considered the issues of partnership within the framework of international communities - UN, EU, OSCE.

Among the topical issues of the meeting was the interaction of the countries within the framework of the Interparliamentary Turkmen-Finnish Friendship Group established last month. The parties noted the need to actualize and strengthen the interstate legal framework.
