Turkmenistan is preparing for a large-scale celebration of the Turkmen horse. According to a presidential decree, the holiday falls every year on the last Sunday of April.
In 2021, the venue for the celebrations dedicated to the Turkmen horse will be the Mary velayat. This was announced during the working video meeting on the occasion of preparations for the upcoming glorious date.
The general director of the "Turkmen atlary" state union, A. Berdiyev, reported to President Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov on the activities planned in the country's equestrian complexes. Thus, horse races will be held in the Mary Horse Racing Complex, and both junior jockeys and jockeys-tutors will take part in them. It is also supposed to organize 6 races on distances of different length. Competitive show jumping competitions are planned to be organized in the capital's equestrian complex. Competitive races of horses over long distances will be held in Akhal velayat (Ak Bugday etrap).
During the festival the most beautiful racer of the Akhal-Teke breed will also be determined. The final part of the beauty contest of 2021 will be held at the Akhal-Teke Horse Breeders' Equestrian Complex. There will also be a show, where creative people from Turkmenistan - painters, carpet weavers, sculptors, jewelers, photographers and others - will present their works praising the beauty of Akhal-Teke horses.
The National Turkmen Horse Festival will mark the end of the event with races involving the horses of this breed. The competitive event will take place on the territory of the International Akhal-Teke Horse Racing Complex. In addition to the races themselves, guests and participants will be able to enjoy musical numbers, stage performances and entertainment events.
The leader of the Turkmen nation gave instructions to approach the implementation of all planned tasks with great responsibility and scrupulosity, so that all planned activities would be held at the highest level, emphasizing the creative spirit of the new page in the history of Turkmenistan.
