A new passport model has been introduced in Turkmenistan

Turkmenistan's President Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a decree to approve the model and procedure for issuing new passports for Turkmen citizens. This was reported by the Telegram channel of the Internet edition "Türkmenistan Habarlar Portaly".

In accordance with the country's laws "On Migration", "On the Internal Affairs Bodies of Turkmenistan" and with Presidential Decree No. 720 "On improving the passport system in Turkmenistan" of September 2, 2020, a new procedure for registration and issuance, rules of use, as well as a sample and description of the passport of a citizen of the country were established.

According to the document signed by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, a previously issued passport of the old sample, if there are no grounds for replacement, in accordance with the laws of Turkmenistan, is not subject to replacement with a new one.
