The size of salaries in Turkmenistan over the past 14 years has increased by almost 400%, and the amount of benefits and various government payments increased on average by 1225.2% from 2008 to 2022. These figures were given in an interview for the newspaper "Turkmenistan" by an expert Mayagozel Babayeva, a candidate of economic sciences.

The economic expert stressed the particular importance of balancing the value of government payments and benefits with labor productivity. The expert noted that in order to achieve the goals of sustainable development of the economy, the quality of products is improved, new enterprises are put into operation, which contributes to the expansion of the labor market in the country.

М. Babayeva also drew attention to the increase in the private entrepreneurial sector in Turkmenistan, which indicates the country's transition to a market economy.
