Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated his Turkmen counterpart on the New Year 2023. In his congratulatory message to Serdar Berdymukhamedov, the Russian leader emphasized that the outgoing year was successful for the development and strengthening of Russia-Turkmenistan relations.
He noted that this was largely made possible by the signing of a declaration on deepening the strategic partnership between the two countries. The document was signed during Serdar Berdymukhamedov's official visit to Moscow in June 2022.
Vladimir Putin stressed the readiness to continue constructive cooperation - both bilaterally and within international organizations (CIS, UN), in the format of the "Caspian Five" and within the forum "Central Asia + Russia". The cooperation between Russia and Turkmenistan will be based on the principles of mutual respect for cultural traditions and interests of friendly peoples to ensure stability and security in the region.
