Turkmenistan's Foreign Minister held talks with a Japanese delegation

On July 11, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov held talks with a Japanese delegation headed by Japanese Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs Yuumi Yoshikawa. This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

During the talks, the sides touched upon the issues of further development of cooperation between the countries in political and diplomatic, cultural and humanitarian, trade and economic spheres. The sides also emphasized the importance of developing contacts at the highest level.

It was noted that regular parliamentary exchanges between Turkmenistan and Japan testify to effective political interaction. The sides plan to further deepen partnership both in the bilateral format and as part of the Central Asia-Japan Dialogue.

The Turkmen side reaffirmed the importance of the Turkmen-Japanese and Japanese-Turkmen Committees on Economic Cooperation in the trade and economic sphere. It was also emphasized that in the cultural and humanitarian sphere, special importance is attached to the development of relations in the fields of sports, health care, tourism, science, education, including the study of Japanese language in universities and schools of Turkmenistan.
