French travel writer Cedric Gras, who arrived in Turkmenistan, visited the Turkmen National Institute of World Languages named after Dovletmammet Azadi and the Turkmen State University named after Makhtumkuli. This was reported by the Internet publication "Turkmenistan: Golden Age".
The guest told about his travels to the Far East and Antarctica and shared the impressions he had received during his stay in Ashgabat. According to the writer, he visited South America, had time to study geography at the French Institute in Pondicherry in India, practiced mountaineering in the Himalayas, crossed Mongolia and Tibet on horseback. Special impressions of the traveler are connected with the trip to Antarctica.
According to Cédric Gras, the landscapes he sees become part of his artistic works. For example, an expedition to a mountain glacier in the Pamirs formed the basis of the documentary movie "The Forgotten Fedchenko Glacier".
