On December 3, a creative evening was held at the University of Istanbul to honor the memory of the great Turkmen poet and philosopher Makhtumkuli Fraghi. This was reported by the Internet resource "Westiabad."
The event was held with the support of the Consulate General of Turkmenistan in Turkey as part of the celebration of the 300th anniversary of Makhtumkuli Fraghi in Turkmenistan in accordance with the motto "Treasure House of Makhtumkuli Fraghi's Mind".
The great importance of literary creative heritage of the great thinker of the East was emphasized at the evening. The influence of Makhtumkuli Fraghi on the national and world culture was noted. In addition, joint work of Turkish and Turkmen philologists and linguists on translation of the poet's works was discussed. Selected poems of Makhtumkuli translated into Turkish were performed during the event.
The event was attended by Turkmen and Turkish statesmen, diplomats, members of the Turkmen Diaspora, students and media representatives.
