President of Turkmenistan headed to the USA to participate in the anniversary session of the UN General Assembly

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov left on a working visit to the United States of America to participate in the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly. The head of state was escorted by high-ranking officials at the capital's airport. Information reports online edition "Turkmenistan: The Golden Age." 

Turkmenistan, pursuing a multi-vector foreign policy based on the principles of neutrality, attaches strategic importance to cooperation with the UN. The accumulated experience makes it possible to bring these relations to a new level.

The visit is particularly symbolic due to the fact that the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality and the 80th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations coincided in this International Year of Peace and Trust. This status, confirmed three times by the resolutions of the General Assembly, serves as a basis for the country's peaceful foreign policy and the development of constructive dialog with the international community.
